Connecting POP Mail with Outlook
Below are graphical instructions on most common way to use Outlook with your pop mail server. Please be aware that there are different versions of Micosoft Outlook and various other email programs. So steps may be simu;ar but not exactly the same on your computer.
Note: If you are using MSN or Bellsouth (and possibly others may apply) as you Internet Service Provider and you have difficulty sending email then your port 25 may be blocked.
If you can receive but not send email then try to use the outgoing username, password, and server information from you Internet Service
Provider’s account. Only replace your outgoing settings. For example: If I can receive email but not send and I have Bellsouth as my Internet Service Provider and my Bellsouth email setting were joeblow@bellsouth.net , password 1234 and there mail server was mail.bellsouth.net then I would replace the outgoing setting in my MS Outlook.
In this case this means:
a. My outgoing mail server would be mail.bellsouth.net instead of smtp.mydomain.com.
b. Under “Outgoing Server” tab (in the email settings) would still have “My outgoing server (SMPT) requires authentication” checked but “Log on using” would contain “joeblow” and password of 1234. Of course you would use your own username and password for your email account given from your Internet Service Provider.
Please consult your Internet Service Provider for more information
Again this is only if you can not send email.
